Imagine yourself being stuck in a cramped space shuttle from December of last year. Well, that's a reality in Sunita William's case, an astronaut sent up by NASA in December 2006 to work on the international space station.
Due to a hail storm, the fuel tank of William's rocket ship, Atlantis, has been damaged, causing NASA's flight schedule to be thrown off.
Williams initial plan was to fly back to earth in July of this year. In addition, the rocket ship that had been planned to rescue her from her space prison, Endeavour,is also running behind the time planned for launch of June 28th, which leaves William's with a longer time to wait up in her starry home.
Doctors and psychiatrist at NASA are carefully keeping track of Sunita's physical and mental stability while she is trapped up in space. Additionally, they are doing their best to keep her from radiation exposure. Scientists and workers at NASA are also doing their bests to keep Suni happy while up in space, launching items to her that can make her feel more comfortable and at home. Workers are concerned about her well being, but research shows that she can stay up for a long period of time if her stability stays the same.
Sunita Williams is expected to have the longest period of time spent in space in the US when she comes home.
Sunita is in high hopes and is being positive on her return home.
